This 2019 45RPM 2-song 7-inch was produced as a companion to the fan-favorite “Two More!” record from 2012. Both releases take on physical fitness-themed Austroploitation originating from the 1970’s and unleash the motivational aspects of training. The songs utilize bodybuilding as a ballsy metaphor for personal growth and perseverance, so you don’t need to be a roid-raging muscle fanatic to appreciate the lyrics.
Prior to recording each, ArnoCorps were set to embark on major tours with new members, so new songs were released to cement the updated lineup. In the case of “Welcome to the Gym!”, we were pumped to introduce our new guitarist Öddum Kriegtroll as an official new member prior to our 2019 UK/Ireland Blockbuster Summer Tour. Upon hearing the new songs, label-owner Jello Biafra proclaimed them to be his all-time favorite songs by ArnoCorps.
